Ipecac

Syrup of Ipecac, an ancient folk medicine, is a standard anti poison substance and should be in every medicine chest. If a child or an adult is poisoned by some substance quickly call your local Poison Control Center (the number should be listed along with your police, fire, ambulance, and physician). They will tell you what substance to use. Having Syrup of Ipecac as an emetic (vomiting agent) may save someone's life. You can purchase small vials of this syrup in any drugstore. Be sure to keep it out of the easy reach of children.
