Lady's Mantle
The word "alchemilla" means magic, and ancient physicians deemed this herb a remarkable and restorative plant for most women's problems. It is very astringent and is good for wounds. In Switzerland the herb has been used to insure sleep, cure headaches, inflammation, toothache (use as a gargle), and as a warm tea to overcome colds of the eyes.

Since the herb is so astringent, it can be used to control excessive and profuse menstrual flow and may also be used along with red raspberry leaf tea for home birth. According to Kunzle, "Every woman in childbed ought to drink a good deal of this herb tea for eight to ten days before giving birth. Many children would still have their mothers, and many a stricken widower his wife, if they had known this gift of God."
Kunzle used this herb tea in large amounts to calm fever and inflammation in the case of any internal injuries. Drink up to two quarts a day. Add honey to accelerate healing.
Lady's Mantle may be mixed with aromatic herbs and used as a beverage tea.
