Lip Balm
Preparation of Oil
2-4 tablespoons rose petals
1 cup almond oil
Use sun to extract the fragrance of the petals into the oil. Fill the jar loosely with the petals, and slowly drizzle oil over them. Fill to within I inch of the top of the jar. Close jar and label. Place in the sun for five days in summer, or three days in a very hot climate, or fifteen days in the winter sun. Strain during the warm part of the day. Using fine mesh, press the herb petals to extract all the oil.

Preparation of Balm
As above, warm rose oil
1 tablespoon beeswax
I teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
I teaspoon vitamin E oil
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
Warm the oil in an improvised double boiler arrangement. Stir continuously. Add 1 tablespoon of beeswax. Add the honey, vanilla extract, vitamin E oil, and aloe vera gel. Stir hot into wide mouthed ointment container. Close with tight lid. The balm will soon harden. This is very nourishing for the lips.
Lip Balm #2
Another healing lip balm is prepared by combining 7 ounces of cocoa butter, I ounce of yellow wax, a teaspoon each of balsam of Peru and benzoic acid; straining; adding a little
rose oil, and, when nearly cool, a quarter of a teaspoon of glycerine.
