Aloe Vera
This remarkable succulent may be planted in your garden or, even better, grown as a house plant to be kept in the kitchen as an antiburn remedy and as a cosmetic aid. To obtain the gel, break open a leaf and smear the juice on a burn or on an insect bite to alleviate the pain. This gel will relieve many skin irritations, including sunburn, and will also soften rough skin. Recent experiments indicate this same gel is successful in alleviating the pain of rheumatic joints. Aloe vera gel can be purchased in many health food stores.
