Coltsfoot
Coltsfoot [Tussilago farfara]
Since ancient Greek times the leaf of the gay yellowflowered coltsfoot has been associated with chest complaints. It is used in a very special way: Either make up an infusion with licorice sticks and honey, and drink the tea, or powder the dried leaves and smoke them! Coltsfoot has always been an important ingredient in British herbal tobacco and may be used alone or mixed with small amounts of thyme, lavender, chamomile, eyebright, buckbean, or betony for pipe tobacco.
