Sweating Herbs It is very important to eliminate toxic materials through the pores of the skin. Various herbs have superior perspiration inducing (diaphoretic) abilities. The most important of the diaphoretic herbs is yarrow. I use a combination of peppermint (over 1/2) and yarrow and elderblossoms at the onset of a cold or flu to induce sweating and settle the body. Other valuable sweat inducing herbs are: chamomile, boneset, thyme, hyssop, and catnip among many others.
